most preferred college for the students who want to pursue their graduation in Chemistry.

2. MISSION AND VISION:

VISION

To understand, advance and explore different facets of chemistry, newer frontiers and application in the biochemical sciences, physical sciences, medicine,

forensic, food, materials, and environmental sciences through teaching, learning, projects and research.

MISSION

The Chemistry Department is involved in the process of preparation of citizens with sound knowledge in various fields of chemistry who are committed

towards the further development, research and contribution to the society. Other than strengthening the students with subject knowledge they are trained

with hands on experiences through rigorous practical to contribute to the society through their research, endeavour and output in different fields.

3.   Departmental Infrastructure:-

The department has three well-equipped laboratories and one store room for chemicals. The laboratories have various useful and necessary modern

scientific instruments such as spectrophotometer, weighing balance, pH meter, conductometer, potentiometer, colorimeter etc. One classroom is equipped

with LCD projector connected with internet. There is a seminar library in the department with different valuable books for students and teachers. The

department also provides wifi facility for the staff as well as for the students.

5. Future Plan:-

 A) Development of the Instrument Laboratory: For running physical chemistry practical classes more effectively. We have planned purchase and

installation of digital polarimeters and other instruments for this purpose.

B) Motivating all faculty staff to run sponsored research projects despite severe limitation of space.

C) Extend CAI (Computer Aided Instruction) to our students. Our experiments to teach with the help of molecular graphics and animations have proved

promising; the obvious requirement is access to a speedy network. It is expected that this will be available to us within the next one or two years.

Explore placement opportunity of our students in fine chemical and pharmaceutical houses who have professional link with us.
